Take one capsule three times day with a meal. Each meal should not have more than 15g of fat or best weight management results.

What is the difference between Xenical and Orlistat?

The active ingredient in Xenical is Orlistat. Xenical is a branded medication, whereas Orlistat is a generic medication. They both work in exactly the same ways, except that the generic Orlistat offers a cheaper alternative for the same effect. They are both equally effective as each other. Click here for more information on branded and generic medicines.

What is Alli?

The medicine Alli contains the active ingredient Orlistat, but, at half the dose. We provide the normal 120mg strength through our online doctor service whereas Alli is only 60mg.

Is this medicine suitable for me?

Xenical / Orlistat has been clinically proven to help reduce weight loss by a third. It is only suitable for patients with a BMI of more than 28 (if they have other medical conditions contributing to weight gain, such as diabetes) or with a BMI of more than 30 if they do not have any such medical conditions.

Treatment with this medicine will be discontinued after 12 weeks if you have not lost at least 5 % of your body weight as measured at the start of treatment with Xenical.

This medicine must not be taken by those who have a BMI of less than 28.

The side effects of Orlistat generally only occur in the first few weeks. This is because the side effects most commonly occur when you have more than 15g of fat in the meal.

The side effects will reduce once you learn how to control the fat content in the meals.

Typical side effects of Orlistat are wind, sudden or more frequent bowel movements and soft stools.
